For designs intended for print you should always use CMYK color mode / space. When printing your posters our printing presses will use a combination of four ink colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, to produce your final poster order. By designing / using CMYK mode, your designs are translated into those correct percentages of ink that we will use on press, resulting in a more accurate color reproduction.
When designing an 18″ x 24″ poster, create your document ¼” (.25″) larger. This can be done easily in most Adobe Creative Suite programs by either increasing the height and width (like in Photoshop) or by adding a .125″ bleed on all four sides of your poster. This will result in a final poster size of 18.25″ x 24.25″ or 5,475 x 7,275 pixels at a resolution of 300.
Mighty Posters makes it easy to look awesome with your choice of three paper weights and two finishes. No cheap papers here, we use only name brand papers in ultra-white brightness.
Whether you want to poster the town with economical 80# text or you’re prepping for retail on heavy 10pt. cover stock, we’ve got a paper choice for you. You can also choose from matte or gloss finish options to allow for easier writing or to highlight your design.

We love surprises, except when it comes to color reproduction. If you’ve designed your poster in using RGB mode, you may be surprised to see changes in your colors after printing.
RGB (Red, Green, & Blue) color mode / space is intended for use in electronic displays, like your computer monitor or television. This color mode is based on combining light, not inks. As a result, some colors (like bright greens) may look great on your screen, but can’t be accurately reproduced using printing inks. If your poster has been designed in the wrong color space, you will notice a color shift from your monitor to the final printed piece. Make sure you double check your instant proof for color accuracy.
Unless properly calibrated, most monitors and screens will not display printing colors accurately. Your choice in paper stocks may also affect final color reproduction.
